Welcome to the new SAA e-Blast
This email newsletter will be sent twice a month around the 1st and the 15th and will serve to be the official communication of the Salem Arts Association. If you need a fix of the latest happenings in between you can always visit or subscribe to the Salem Arts Association's blog under the 'News' section on the SAA website.
Thanking some outgoing board members
Please join us in thanking the following outgoing board members for all they have done for the SAA!
Kristin Solias (outgoing President) Kristin first served as Vice President, then as President, and has contributed greatly to the development and structure of our organization.
Gary LaParl (outgoing retail & events committee chair) After serving as our founding president, and most recently on the retail and events committees, Gary is now busy with another great organization, The Salem Theatre Company!
Pamela Braverman-Schmidt (outgoing Vice President) Pamela has helped steer our growing organization and contributed to the SAA Board and we are grateful for the time she gave us.
Please let each know how much you appreciate all they have done the next time you see them at a SAA event!
A note from your new Vice President
As a 30-year resident of Salem I am excited to be a part of this growing and dynamic group of artists and art lovers. This is a great time to be an artist as our numbers keep growing and we will continue to contribute to the wonder and the fun that is Salem!
Please consider my email as a suggestion box. As we move into the next phase of the organization I'd like to hear what interests you, what keeps you coming back, what would you like to see us do in the future?
Think about how you and some of your artist friends can contribute to the Salem Arts Festival in June? Be a part of our Meet the Artists ARTS WALK (see listing below)? Or come up with your own ideas, the city is your canvas, theatre, auditorium-USE IT! The city will continue to seek grants and funding for this event and it can only grow if we get creative & contribute.
Our next Social gathering will be a spring exhibit called "Seeds of Summer" at the SAtv gallery on March 4, 2010. See the website for further details. Submit up to two pieces by March 1st. Even if you don't submit come on down and say hello to your fellow artists after our many months of hibernation!
Let's Rock!
